Barclays credit-card operation, Barclaycard, with over 16 million card holders in 30 countries, is one of the most experienced card issuers in the world today. The credit-card expertise derived from Barclaycard is complemented by the Nordic market knowledge of Swedbank and its relationships with over 8 million private customers. In July 2005 the unique strengths of these entities were combined to create EnterCard a group of credit-card companies with market-leading capabilities for the Nordic and Baltic markets.
EnterCard began trading with over 600,000 accounts, and with a team of handpicked people from its founders and across the industry. We are already beginning to see the results, which are ahead of our aggressive business-plan targets and benefiting both our owners and our business partners. EnterCard International is now managing over 800,000 card accounts, supported by approximately 200 employees across Stockholm, Oslo and Trondheim.
