Please meet Bowen Yang, Senior Credit Risk Analyst at the Oslo office 🧮
What do you do?
I work as a Credit Risk Analyst. I primarily focus on monitoring and optimizing our existing credit portfolio, ensuring that our risk strategies perform as intended and adapt to changes in customer behavior and market conditions.
In my role, I analyze large volumes of credit data to identify trends, assess performance, and propose strategic adjustments. This includes evaluating risk levels, profitability, and long-term sustainability. Beyond day-to-day portfolio monitoring, I also contribute to cross-functional initiatives, supporting areas such as Commercial and Finance with analytical insights that inform broader business decisions.
What does your team do?
Our team is responsible for managing and optimizing credit risk across the portfolios we oversee. We develop and refine credit strategies, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure that our underwriting and account management practices remain aligned with both regulatory requirements and business objectives.
A key part of our work involves balancing risk and profitability – making sure we enable growth while maintaining a sustainable and controlled risk level. We continuously monitor reporting systems, analyze trends, and adjust strategies when needed.
What is the best thing about Entercard?
One of the best things about Entercard is the combination of strong professional expertise and a positive, inclusive culture. There is a high level of competence across the organization, and people are genuinely open to sharing knowledge and perspectives.
I appreciate how accessible colleagues are across functions and levels. It is easy to reach out, discuss ideas, and challenge assumptions in a constructive way. That openness creates better decisions and makes collaboration both efficient and rewarding.
How is it to work with your role in the finance industry?
Working in credit risk within the finance industry is both demanding and motivating. The consumer credit market is constantly evolving, influenced by regulatory developments, economic shifts, and changes in customer behavior. This requires continuous learning and the ability to adapt quickly.
The regulatory framework can be complex, but it also ensures that we operate responsibly and sustainably. For me, that balance between innovation, regulation, and analytical rigor is what makes the role interesting.
At the same time, the impact of our work is tangible. The strategies and analyses we develop directly influence business performance, customer experience, and the long-term health of the portfolio. Being part of that responsibility is both challenging and rewarding.
